As I combined lessons 7 & 8 I will also be combining lessons 9 & 10, taking the full two weeks to teach them. I’m completing these lesson notes now, using Mack Stirling’s Institute notes and giving some church history during this time period.

If lesson 29 was a bit on the lighter side, lesson 30 is still lighter. My notes will be minimal, except with regard to one teaching in particular (the first paragraph on p. 355), and even then they will be inconclusive. After the theological weight of the last few lessons, I was surprised by the relative lightness of this one. The result: my notes will be quite a bit shorter this week. I read a moving op-ed in the New York Times today. The author, François Bizot, was a prisoner of the Khmer Rouge in 1971 and writes about the war crimes trial of the leader of his captors, Kaing Guek Eav (aka Comrade Duch). That he calls Duch his “Savior” should grab your attention.
